Abstract: The paper systematically reviewed the progress in policy making for national basic public health service projects in China from 2009 to 2016.Starting from the "Opinions on facilitating the implementation of equalization of public health services" and "Guidance for basic public health services in floating populations",the paper mainly focused on the national basic public health service specification,funding and management approach,performance evaluation and other related policies and the progress and challenges in the implementation of the projects.Data were extracted from China Health and Family Planning Statistical Year Book of 2010-2017,National Financial Annual Report of Health Service,2009-2016 and survey data on primary care comprehensive reform of 2014-2016 in key contacted areas were analyzed.The progress and achievement in the national basic public health service projects were summarized; challenges and problems in the implementation of the projects were discussed; and some suggestions were proposed.
