Gao Runping
2000, 16(4): 291-292. doi: 10.11847/zgggws2000-16-04-02
Abstract(1013)
Abstract:
To study the inhibitory effects of Selenium(Se)on extracellular matrix(ECM)production of hepatocytes and ito cells in vitro, rat hepatocytes and ito cells were isolated and cultured. The results showed that addition of carbon tetrachloride to hepatocytes and ito cells pretreated with 0.36 nmol/L Se 4 hours before, the incorporation of 3H-proline and the secretion of precollagen type Ⅲ and the production of malondialdehyde were markedly inhibited and the activity of glutathione peroxidase(GPx)obviously increased.Se also inhibited the excretion of hyaluronic acid、laminin and fibronectin in cultured ito cells. The analysis of correlation indicated that the effects of Se on antioxidative injury and ECMs production depended mainly on increasing the activity of GPx.

Zhao Wenhua
2000, 16(4): 293-296. doi: 10.11847/zgggws2000-16-04-04
Abstract(1236)
Abstract:
To Study the relationship between BMI and WHR and blood pressure,A total of 12,995 people over 40 years of age in rural China was surveyed.Height, weight, waist circumference, hip circumference and blood pressure were measured. The relationship betwween BMI and WHR and blood pressure were analyzed by dividing BMI and WHR into tertiles. Results:The average blood pressure level and the prevalence of hypertension of male and female are increased significantly with the increase of BMI(P< 0.01)as well as with the increase of BMI and WHR simultanceously(P<0.01).The average blood pressure and prevalence of hypertension did noth increase when WHR≥0.76(P>0.05),and this suggest that WHR≥0.80 may as a cut-off value for hypertension risks prediction. We believe that the combination of BMI and WHR is an effective indicator for the prediction of hypertension risks, and hypertension can be effectively prevented and controlled by controlling BMI and WHR.

Yang Jianming
2000, 16(4): 299-300. doi: 10.11847/zgggws2000-16-04-08
Abstract(1057)
Abstract:
To study the effects of cadmium on frucose and transferrin in seminalplasma from occupationally exposed workers, the general conditions of workers were investigated with the questionnaire. The determination of frucose was carried out using the methods that WHO recommended, and transfery in was assayed by using kit.The results showed that the amount of fructose and transferrin was significantly lower in the exposed group than that in the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01),but no significant difference was found in the content of fructose and transferr in anlong different blood cadmium groups. There was a decreasing trend of the concentrations of fructose and transferrin as the increase of seminal plasma cadmium concentration. The content of transferrin in seminal plasma was reduced significantly by prolonged cadmium exposure period(P<0.01),but the content of ructose among different cadmium exposure period showed no significant difference.Comelation analysis indicated that a negatively conelative relationship between the fmctose, transferrin in the seminal plasma and the rate of malformation sperm(P<0.05).These findings suggested that the secretive functions of the testicular cell can be affected by occupational cadmium exposure.

2000, 16(4): 303-304. doi: 10.11847/zgggws2000-16-04-11
Abstract:
To study the measurement of serum paraoxonase activity which is of significance in the some cardiovascular disease and intoxication of organophosphates, using a simple spectrophotometer. Methods The liberation of P-nitrophenol upon hydrolysis of paraoxon at 412nm was measured to represent the enzyme activity. The reactive conditions were optimized and the final assay system consisted of 10μl serum added 1.6ml mixture of 1.0mM paraoxon and 1.0mM CaCl2 in 0.05M glycine buffer(pH10.5),incubated at 25℃ for 10 minutes and inhibited by 50μl 0.1M EDTA.Results The paraoxonase activity was linear correlated with the absorbance value between 0 and 1600 units. The coefficient of variation(CV)of this met hod was from 1.49%,to 4.27%.The difference between observable and theoretical value was 17.11%,1l.2% and 4.95%,respectively,by adding 25%,50% and 75% of the enzyme(in serum). The CV among different daily measurement varied between 10.11% to 10.54%.Conclusions The method is good enough to detect the paraoxonase activity and can be used widely, since it needs simply instrument.
Effects of Supplementary Arginine on the Histology of Thymus in Heat stressed Rets
Zhang Yunshan
2000, 16(4): 305-307. doi: 10.11847/zgggws2000-16-04-12
Abstract:
We observed the histological changs of thymus in rats which were exposed under normal temperature and different hypert hermoa with supplied different concentration arginine by gavage. The results showed that the structure of thymus in every group revealled no marked difference at normal temperature condition, but the damages degree of thymus structure was obvious difference in the different heat-stressed rats. The damages were less in rats with supplementation of arginine groups.low temperature groups and short time heat-stressed groups than those with no supplementation of arginine groups, high temperature groups and long time heat-stressed groups individually. And that the histological changes of thymus followed the different time after heat stress were different. It suggested that the different hypert hermia all could injury the cells and structure of thymus. As the hypert hermia increased and heat2stressed time prolonged, the damages of thymus aggravated.Adequate supplementary arginine could protect the thymus of rats under heat stress.

Effect of Trichloroethylene on Lipid Peroxidation in the Liver of Rats As acute Exposure
Zhang Jinzhou
2000, 16(4): 308-309. doi: 10.11847/zgggws2000-16-04-14
Abstract:
After single oral administration(by gavage)of trichloroethylee (3000mg/kg B.W.),the serum and liver were collected. The activity of serum GPT and GOT(as indices of liver damage)were measured. Also,The activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD)glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)and the level of malondialdehy de (MDA)were analysed in the liver homogenate of the rats. The results revealed the activity of liver SOD and serum GPT、GOT in the rats acutely exposed to trichlorothy lene(TCE)was sinificantly higher than that of those the control(P<0.01).pretreatment with vitamin E.could reduce the level of liver MDA and the acitivity of liver SOD、seum GPT and GOT.It is suggested that TCE might induce lipid peroxidation in the live of rats and vitamine E could protect liver from TCE~induced liver damage in some degree.

Effects of cadmium on male reproduetive ability in rat
Yang Jianming
2000, 16(4): 313-314. doi: 10.11847/zgggws2000-16-04-19
Abstract:
To explore the effects of cadmium on male reproductive ability in rat, 24 adult rats were divided randomly into four groups respectively. 0,0.5,1,and 2 mg Cd2+/kg body weight were injected subcutaneously in different groups, once a day, and five days per week. The exposure period is 5 weeks. The male rats finished cadmium exposure were matched with normal female rats in the ratio of 1:2.On the 21st day of the pregnancy, the female rats were sacrificed and the number of corpus luteum, the sex ratio, weight, body length, and tail length of fetuses were measmed. The results showed that with the increase of dose of cadmium, there was a decreased mated rate in male rats (P<0.05). Female rats mated successfully in cadmium exposed groups were significantly fewer than that in the control group (P<0.01). The number of female rats with living fetus in 0.5mg Cd2+/kg group was smaller than that in the controls (P>0.05). There was no living fetus in 1 and 2mgCd2+/kg groups. Comparison of the body weight, body height, tail length, and gender of fetus between 0. 5 mg Cd2+/kg and the control group showed no significant difference. No malformation in bone was found in the two groups. These findings revealed that cadmiuln can significantly affect male fenility, but has no offects on fetus when female rats are pregnant successfully.

2000, 16(4): 333-335. doi: 10.11847/zgggws2000-16-04-37
Abstract:
To investigate whether the combination infection with different HIV-1 subtypes existed in HIV-1 infected population in China, and to analyse their infection source. Methods HIV-1 env gene was amplified by nested-PCR from uncultured peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)obtained from 3 HIV-1 sero positive individuals found in Shenzhen. The C2-V3 region (360bp)o f them was sequenced and analyzed. Results Of 3 HIV -1 infectors,2(sz1 and sz8)were infected with subtype Thai B (Bc)and E with 23.52% and 20.69% intersubtype gene divergence inside individual, one subtype Europe and America B and C with 28.44% intersubtype divergence. In comparison of Bcon,Ccon,Econ HIV-1 internatiional reference sequence with corresponding subtypes found in these 3 infectors, the divergence waw 5.07-7.26%,3.23% and 5.38-5.99%,respectively.The tetra-peptide in the crown of gp120 V3 loop found in sz46 who was a drug user and prostitute was GPGR characterized for Europe and A merica B subtypes, others were GPGQ characterized for Thai B and E.Phylogenetic tree analysis further shown that sz1-2,sz81,sz46-1 were tightly clustered with international Bcon,sz46-2 with Ccon,sz1-1 and sz8-2 with Econ, respectively. Conclusion These findings suggested that 3 individuals were infected with two different HIV-1 subtype probably result from multirisky behaviors.

Huang Alaun
2000, 16(4): 360-361. doi: 10.11847/zgggws2000-16-04-62
Abstract:
In order to investigate the association between cardiovascular risk factors and a set of human body parameters,at the same time to determine which parameter correlated most highly with the risk factors.Collected data including body height and Weight, waist, abdominal and hip circumferences, and risk factors(serum total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, blooding sugar, systolic and diastolic blood pressure)were available from survey of cardiovascular risk factors in the residents of AnHui rural areas. After Calculation body mass index(BMI),waist/hip(WHR),abdominal/hip(AHR)and conicity index(CI),then the association of body parameters and risk factors was gained by SAS canonical correlation analysis,As the results point out:Canonical correlation were statistically significant between the body parameters and cardiovascular risk factors in all sex-age-specific groups.of the body parameters,BMI consistently demonstrates the highest correlation coefficients with cardiovascular risk factors. So the canonical correlation analysis indicates that BMI is the simplest but the most important of the body parameters for the risk of cardiovascular disease.
