Study on factors influencing appropriate technology training in western medicine in the countryside of Gansu province

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo evaluate the effects of appropriate technology training in western medicine in the countryside of Gansu province,and to find out their influencing factors.MethodsExams were carried out among the trainees before and after the trainings,and then the scores were analyzed with statistical methods.After the trainings,surveys on training effects were carried out with questionnaire survey.ResultsThe scores improved from 31.32±1.51 to 68.06±1.39 after the lectures,and to 72.13±1.43 after interaction enhancement and were positively correlated with trainees'professional titles(P<0.01).The scores among trainees with different professions had significant differences after the interaction enhancement(P<0.05).40.25% of trainees thought the contents of the trainings were very difficult and the attitudes among them with different professions were significantly different and negatirely corelated with their professional titles(P<0.01).91.11% of trainees agreed that they had mastered the technology(P<0.05)and 70.62% thought retraining was necessary.The levels of their working place were negativelyly correlated with the attitudes to the retraining(P<0.05).The attitudes among the trainees with different professions had significant differences(P<0.05).ConclusionThe appropriate technology trainings in western medicine in the countryside of Gansu province were proved to be effective.The background of the trainees affected the trainings,so the selective standards must be strict,and the technology should be trained step by step in various ways.
Effective evaluation of training for Dong’s approach on treatment of lumbar disc herniation

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of training for Dong's approach on treatment of lumbar disc herniation.Methods52 trainees coming from two project counties were trained and examed together and then a questionnaire survey about the satisfaction of the training was done.ResultsThe average scores of trainees improved from 31.20 to 80.00 after class and to 80.65 after the interaction strengthening,and there was a statistically difference(F=143.363,P<0.05).A wareness rate increased from 36.09% to 80.00% and 82.30%.There was also a statistically difference(χ2=279.30,P<0.01).The rate of demanding,mastering of Dong's approach and satisfiaction of the training of the trainees was 98.08%, 96.5% and 96.15% r espectively.65.39% of trainees thought the technique being easy to learn.ConclusionThe effect of training is better,but the effect of interaction strengthening is not good.And the trainees did not expertly mast er the operation of the technique.The training of operational practice is needed.

ObjectiveTo explore the effects of public propag anda and skill training of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)among citizens in Nanning city.MethodsA survey questionnaires of CPR knowledge,skill training with Skillreporter Resusci Anne manikin and an evaluation for training efficacy were carried out in 4,160 citizens.ResultsThe knowledge and skills about CPR were understood only by 0.82% of the citizens in Nanning city before the training.The ratio increased significantly to 95.9% (P<0.01)after the propaganda and the training.ConclusionMost citizens are lack of the knowledge and skills of CPR and it is anurgent task to provide the propaganda and skill training of CPR among citizens in Nanning city.The practice with Skillreporter Resusci Anne manikin in a short-term training may enhance significantly the citizens' knowledge and skills in CPR.

ObjectiveTo analyze the factors affecting the applicaton of appropriate technologies and provide scientific data for generalization of technologies of medicine in rural area.MethodsTo investigate trainnees of counties and towns, Gansu province,by questionnaires survey,get the relative factors affecting generalization and aplication of the technologies of medicine.Results71.11% of the managers thought invested money was not enough and 44.44% believed the equipments were not matched.35.56% of the manager considered farmers did not accept the technologies.54.53% of trainees of traditional chinese medicine considered no suitable equipments and 50.00% of trainees of western medicine considered no effective medicine.ConclusionNo enough money and no relative medicines and equipments affected the generalization and application of the technologies.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo detecthepatitis Evirus(HEV)and its genotypes and subgenotypes among swine,rats,dogs, Rhesus Macagues and fishes in Guangxi.Methods170 HEVantibody positive serum samples from swine,rats,and dogs,150 liver tissue samples from rats,80 fecal samples from dogs under the age of 3 months,120 bile samples from fishes,129 fecal samples from swine under the age of 3 months,and 130 fecal samples of Rhesus Macaques in Longhushan Natural Park in Guangxi were collected.HEV RNA was amplified by reverse transcription nested polymerase chain reaction(RT-nPCR), and RT-nPCR positive products were cloned and sequenced.The nucleotide sequence comparison and phylogenetic analysis of HEVfor positive samples isolated were made by using the Vector NTI Suite 9.0 and Three View Softwares.ResultsThe HEVRT-nPCR of all 170 serum samples from swine,rats and dogs were negative,and HEV RN Awas also negative among all the remaining samples,including 150 liver tissue samples from rats,120 bile samples from fishes,fecal samples from 80 dogs and 130 Rhesus Macaques.The HEV positive rate of fecal samples from swine under the age of 3 months was 10.08% (13/129).These 13 swines' HEV ORF1 nucleotide sequences islates shared similarities of 73~77%,76%~79%,76%~81%,82%~97% with genotype I-IV,respectively.Their similarities with 6 subg enotypes were 82%~94% (4a),82%~98% (4b),82%~87% (4c),81%~87% (4d),84%~86% (4f),81%~84% (4g),respectively.Among those 13 isolates,2 isolates shared the highest similarity at 82%~94% with IVa and 11 isolates shared the highest similarity at 82%~98% with IVb.ConclusionHEV strains of swine from Guangxi were classified as HEV genotype IV,2 of which were classified as HEV IVa subgenotype and 11 of which were classified as HEV IVb subgenotype.HEV was not detected positively in all serum samples from swine,rats and dogs,lver tissue from rats,fecal samples from dogs and Rhesus Mmacaques,and bile samples from fishes.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo study the effects of fish oil supplementation on the percentage of neutrophils(Neu%),the percentage of eosinophils(EOS%),interleukin-8(IL-8),eotax in in induced sputum and on pulmonary ventilation function of children with asthma.Methods63 children with asthma were randomly divided into two groups:conventional group and treatment group.The conventional group was treated with conventional methods.The treatment group was given additional fish oil supplementation besides conventional treatment.IL-8,eotaxin,Neu%,EOS% in induced sputum and FEV 1.0%, PEF% were measured before and after the tr eatment.ResultsThe Neu%,IL-8 in sputum increased and negatively correlated with FEV 1.0%,PEF% (P<0.01)among the childr en with asthma.Compared with conventional group,the Neu%,IL-8 decreased significantly and FEV 1.0%,PEF% increased(P<0.05)among treatment group after the treatment.ConclusionThe fish oil supplementation improves ventilation by alleviating airway inflammation in children with mild-moderate asthma.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo study the effect of routine water treatment technology on contents of 3-cloro-4-(dichloromethyl)-5-hydroxy-2(5H)-furanone(MX)and total organic carbon(TOC)in drinking water,as well as mutagenicity of the non-volatile org anic extracts from drinking water for providing scientific bases for optimization of the drinking water treatment technology.MethodsWater samples includingraw water,water from treatment steps of coag ulative precipitation after prechlorination,precipitation,filtration and chlorination disinfection,and tap water were collected.GC/MS and TOC-Analyse were used to determine the concentrations of MX and TOC.The pH value and turbidity of water were also determined.The mutagenicity of non-volatile organic extracts from water samples was evaluated by means of Ames test.ResultsMX and TOC concent rations showed the same variation during the process of drinking water treatment.Compared to raw water,MX and TOC levels in water were increased after prechlorination and chlorination disinfection and decreased after precipitation.MX levels were signinficantly cor related with TOC levels,but not with pH value and turbidity.There were higher mutagenic activities of water after chlorination disinfection and tap water than that of raw water.ConclusionFor drinking water treatment technology,chlorination and precipitation were impo rtant procedures affecting concentrations of MX and TOC.Chlorination enhances formation of MX and mutag enic activity of drinking water.
Effect of potassium iodate on anti-oxidative capability of liver in rats

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo study the effect of KIO3 on liver anti-oxidative capability.MethodsThe rats were divided into 6 groups and given by different dosage of KIO3 with low iodide(LI),normal iodide(NI),5 folds high iodide(5 HI),10 folds high iodide(10 HI),50 folds high iodide(50 HI)and 100 folds high iodide(100 HI).3,6 and 12 months later,the rats were sacrificed and liver GPx activity,SOD activity and MDA content were measured.ResultsThe GPx activity in LI group was markedly lower than NI group.Furthermore,the MDA content and the SOD activity of LI group was higher than that of NI group.The SOD activity of 10 HI group was higher than that of NI group after administration for 6 and 12 months,but no difference was found after administration for 3 month.The SOD activity of 50 HI and 100 HI groups were higher than that of NI group after administration for 3 months,but lower than that of NI group after administration for 6 and 12 months.There was no difference in GPx activity and MDA content between NI group and 4 high iodide groups.ConclusionLow iodide in 2 take would damage anti-oxidative capability of liver in normal rats.There was no obvious oxidative damage to liver in the rats after administration by high iodate for a long period.

ObjectiveEffects of plant tannins,chebulinic acid and tellimagrandin I on chemically induced hemoglobin synthesis in K 562 cells were investig ated.MethodsThe hemoglobin synthesis situation was assayed with benzidine staining.Erythroid antigens glycophorin A(GPA)expression on the surface of K 562 cells was labeled by direct immunofluorescence using fluorescein isothiocyanate-conjugated anti-GPA antibodies.Then flow cytometric analysis was performed to detect GPA expression levels on surface of the cells.ResultsBoth chebulinic acid and tellimagrandin Icould inhibit the hemoglobin synthesis of butyric acid and hemin-treated K562 cells in a concentration-dependant manner.However,the BA-induced K562 cellscere more sensitive to two tannins than heroin-induced cells.ConclusionChebulinic acid and tellimagr andin I have inhibitory effect on the erythroid differentiation.

ObjectiveTo explore the mRNA and protein expression of hMSH2 and hMLH1 gene during different stages of 16HBE cells induced by cadmium chloride(CdCl2).MethodsReverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and immunohistochemcial staining(SP method)were used to measure hMSH2 and hMLHI genes mRNA and protein expression levels in 16HBE cells and their different passage cells treated by cadmium chloride(the 5th,15th,35th passage cells, and tumorigenic cells from nude mice's tumor tissue).ResultsThe bigger the passages times of 16HBE cells treated with cadmium chloride,the lower the expression levels of hMSH2 gene were.The hMSH2 genes mRNA and protein expression levels of the CdCl2 transformed 35LH 16HBE cells and tumorigenic cells of nude mice significantly decreased compared with non-transformed 16HBE cells(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in mRNA and protein expression of hMLH1 gene during different stages of 16HBE cells induced by cadmium chloride(P>0.05).ConclusionThe down-regulated expression levels of hMSH2 gene may be the possible carcinogenic mechanism for cadmium chloride.
Study on extramarrital sexual intercourse and condom use related factors among floating population

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo understand the incidence of extramarrital sexual intercourse,the rate of condom use and its influencing factors among floating population and provide basis for promoting condom use.Methods975 migrants in Baotou city,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region were anonymously investigated with questionnaires by using the target populations geographical distribution map and randomly cluster sampling method.ResultsBased on the data of 965 effective questionnaires,the rate of extramarrital sexual intercourse was 1011%,and the rate of condom use was 36.4% in commercial sexual intercouse and 26.7% in casual partener sexual intercouse respectively.It was not found that the rate of condom use was related to subjects'gender,educational level,jobs,HIV/AIDS related knowledge and the attitude towards AIDS patients.ConclusionThe rate of condom use is low and shows that condom use are not paid enough attention to among floating population during extramarrital sexual intercourse.It is very hard to prevent sexual transmitted diseases and AIDS with such a low rate of condom use.So it is imperative to explore further measures of promoting condom use.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of chronic lead contamination on protein expression of PKC-C in the hippocampus of mice.MethodsChronic acetic lead contamination was applied to mice(2.4,4.8,9.6 mmol/L),and young mice were killed at 14,21,35,48 d respectively.Western blotting was used to observe the protein expression levels of PKC-C in hippocampus of mice.ResultsCompared with the control group,PKC-Cprotein expression in the hippocampus of mice with chronic lead exposure was significantly down trended(P<0.05).ConclusionChronic lead exposure can disturb the normal expression of PKC-C protein in mice.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo investigate the role of mutations of P53 gene in the atypical hyperplasia of bronchus epithelia and carcinogenesis of lung.MethodsImmunohistochemistry staining was used to detect the expression of mutated P53 protein in 41 cases of bronchus epithelium tissues,150 cases of lung cancer tissues and 51 cases of normal lung tissues.PCR amplification and DNA sequencing were used to assay the mutaion of P53 gene in the BPDE transformed human bronchial epithelium cells.ResultsThe expression rate of mutated P53 protein was 7.8% (4/51)in normal lung tissues,43.90% (18/41)in atypical hyperplasia of bronchus epithelium tissues,and 68.7% (103/150)in lung cancer tissues,the difference between different tissues was highly significant(P<0.01),and there was a trend for expression of mutated P53 from normal lungs to atypical hyperplasia of bronchus eithelium,and to lung cancer(P<0.001).The expression of mutated P53 were higher in the smokers than that of non-smokers.The mutated P53 protein and mutaion in the sequence of P53 gene were detected simultsneously in BPDE transformed human bronchial epithelium cells.ConclusionThe mutation of P53 is associated with lung carcinogenesis,smoking exposure can cause P53 mutation,and the detection of mutation in P53 gene will be helpful for the early diagnosis of human lung cancer.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo learn the health status of residents in Beijing.MethodsThis study was based on death survillance data in Beijing from 1949 to 2006.To evaluate health status of those residents,the relative health indicators as mortality rate,infant mortality rate and life expectancy were used.ResultsDuring 56 years the total mortality rate,infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate decreased by 62.55%,95.75% and 88.82% respectively,while the life expectancy increased by 28 years.Recently there were more changes in ranking of death causes.In 1949 the leading death cause was infectious diseases,however after 56 years that mortality rate have decreased by 98.28% and the rank went to the tenth.ConclusionInfectious diseases had decreased.Meanwhile,chronic diseases such as cerebrovascular diseases,heart diseses,neoplasms are becoming major health problems.

ObjectiveTo study the correlation between the status of water pollution and cancer mortality.MethodsInvestigation into water pollution and the cause of death were carried out in some parts of Fuqing and Yongtai.ResultsThe indexs above the national standards in drinking water were pH,fluoride,lead,iron,manganese.The over standard rate of manganese in Fuqing was significantly higher than that in Yongtai.The over standard rate of total nitrogen and total phosphorus in Fuqing was 55% and 25% respectively,and the rate in Yongtai were 0%.The rate in Fuqing was significantly higher than that of in Yongtai(P<0.05).The positive reaction rate of microcystin in Fuqing was 46.5%,which was significantly higher than that of in Yongtai(11.1%,P<0.05).The standar dized mortality of cancer in Fuqing was one time higher than that of in Yongtai.The standar dized mor tality of esophageal,stomach,liver,colorectal,lung and bladder cancer in Fuqing were higher than those of in Yongtai.ConclusionThe high mortality of cancer in Fuqing may be correlated with water pollution.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo compare the germicidal efficacy between ortho-phthalaldehyde and potent iated glutaraldehyde in disinfection of spores of Bacillus subtilis var.niger.MethodsCarrier quantitative disinfection test was used to make comparison of the two disinfectants in their gerimicidal efficacy and constinuous stability.ResultsThe logarithm value of disinfection spores of Bacillus subtilis var.niger exposed to 0.53% ortho-phthalaldehyde for 3 h was 3.21 and that of 10 h was higher than 6.10.The same disinfection logarithm value of 2.18% potentiated glutaraldehyde for 3 h was higher than 6.10.In continuous stability test,the germicidal efficacy of 0.53% or tho-phthalaldehyde in disinfection of the spores was effective after 7 and 14 days of contionous use.ConclusionAt the same concentration,the sporicidal efficacy of ortho-phthalaldehyde was weaker than that of potentiated glutaraldehyde,but or tho-phthalaldehyde still is of high germicidal efficacy and comtinuous stabinty for endoscopes.
Effects of microwave radiation on permeability changes of blood-brain barrier in rats

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo study the influence of microwave radiation on the structure and function of blood-brain barrier(BBB)in rats.MethodsWistar rats were exposed to microw av es with average power densities of 10,30 and 100mW/cm2 respectively.Hematoxylin eosin(HE)staining was used to observe the changes of morphology in BBB.Evans blue(EB)dye and lanthanum nitrate were used to test the permeability of BBB.ResultsAfter being exposed to 10~100mW/cm2 microwave,parts of gliocyte showed py knosis and anachromasis in cerebral cortex and hippocampus.The perivascular space widened.In sham-group,the red fluorescence of EB was limited in lumens of blood vessels,while it dispersed out of the blood vessels at 3d in 100mW/cm2 group.There was an increase of EB contents in hippocampus in 3~14 d after 10~100mW/cm2 microwave radiation.The EB contentincr eased progressively in 10 and 30 mW/cm2 groups within 7d and recovered at 14d, while itincr eased progressively in 100mW/cm2 group within 14d.Lanthanumions were in the blood vessel in sham-group; and they were observed in circumvascular subendothelial layer at 3d and in extracellular space of brain dinterstitial cells at 7d in 100 mW/cm2 group.ConclusionMicrowave radiation can damage BBBstructure and function and resultin the increase of permeability of BBB.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo study common allergens and provide basis for the prevention and treatment of children allergic diseases.MethodsUsing automatic in vit ro immunity diagnosis meter(UniCAP100),9 kinds of inhalation allergens and 8 kinds of food allergens were tested in 2,276 children allergy cases.The positive rate of each kind of allergen,the seasonal distribution of allergic diseases in children and the sex differences of positive rates of allergens among children were analyzed.ResultsDermatophagoides farinae,dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and house dust are the main inhalation allergens and the positive rates of them are 76.02%,75.46% and 62.37% respectively.Other allergens are cockroaches,mothes,amaranthes, cajeputs,horsetail beefwoods and mulberry trees.The main food allergens are eggs and milk and the positive rates of them are 49.58% and 46.66% respectively.Other food allergens are wheat,shrimps,peanuts,soybean,crabs and fishes.The seasonal distribution of allergic diseases in children demonstrated that there were two periods in a year,the early winter(Nov.,Dec.) and the spring(Mar.,Apr.),in which children tend to suffer from allergens more frequently than any other periods.ConclusionIn Shenzhen,dermatophagoides farinae,dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and house dusts are the main inhaliation allergens and eggs and milk are the main food allergens.As a whole,the harmfulness of inhalation allergens is higher than food allergens.The prevention and treatment of allergic diseases in children should be paid much more attention to in the early winter and spring in a year.

e case-contr ol study,we enrolled 71 patients with angina and 164 controls.All patients and controls were genotyped by po lymerase chain reaction and allele-specific oligonucleotide techniques for the ICAM-1 polymorphism.ResultsConventional cardiovascular risk factors including ag e,sex,BMI,smoke,blood pressure and blood lipid showed no significant difference between case and control group(P>0.05).The distribution of genotype(KK,KE,EE)in angina and control groups was 28(39.4%),30(42.3%),13(18.3%)and 40(24.4%),65(39.6%),59(36.0%),respectively.K allele gene correlated with angina and peo ple with KK or KE genotypes had 2.525 times high risk of angina than those with EEgenotype.ConclusionThere is relationship between the K469E polymorphism of ICAM-1 gene and angina,which may be a potential factor influencing the risk of coronary heart disease(angina).

ObjectiveTo investig ate the expression of CaMKⅡmRNA in hippocampus and cortex after cerebral ischemia reperfusion in rats,explore the regulative effects and the mechanism of basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)on CaMKⅡmRNA in the brain tissue of the rats.MethodsThe model of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)was performed by using the intraluminal filament method.The expression of CaMKⅡmRNA and neuron apoptosis in hippo campus and cortex were detected with RT-PCR TUNEL method.ResultsThe expression of CaMKⅡmRNA in hippo campus and cortex reduced after cerebral ischemia reperfusion.The expression of CaMKⅡmRNA in bFGF group was increased,but neuron apoptosis decreased.ConclusionBasic fibroblast growth factor neuron inhibits apoptosis and participates in the regulation of expression of CaMKⅡmRNA in ischemc neurons and protects the neurons.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effects of maternal and child health(MCH)workers training on the knowledge and skill about the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV in Yunnan.MethodsThe same questionnaire sur vey was conducted to 414 MCH workers in 47 counties of Yunnan before the training and to 107 MCH workers sampled from the trained subjects after one and a half year.ResultsThe awaneness rates of basic knowledge on HIV/AIDS and knowledge concerning personal protection were raised after training.The rates of correct answers to the questions such as "the window period",whether "mosquito bites transmitting HIV","the transmission route with the highest odds" and "common disinfectors can kill HIV" were raised from 68.1%,83.6%,69.1% and 61.6% to 95.3%,100%,90.7% and 94.4% respectively.The awareness rates of the voluntary consulting testing(VCT)and the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV were raised significantly after training.The correct rates of answering questions such as "VCT for pregnant and lying-in women is free or not","who is the objective to be told the positive result of a HIV test" and "mother-to-child transmission of HIV can be prevented or not" were raised from 77.4%,39.7% and 78.4% to 99.1%,81.3% and 98.2% respectively.At the same time,the fear and contempt for HIV positive persons were deduced obviously.Fewer persons were afraid of contacting the HIV positives with the rate declining from 36.4% to 11.2%.ConclusionThe systemic and professional training model aiming at the combination of theory and practice improves the awareness rate of the knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment among MCH workers,and lightens their fear of and contempt for positives.

ObjectiveThe effects of normobaric hypoxia on cognitive processing in human were studied by recording audio event-related potential(ERP)to diagnose possible damage of the brain.MethodsTen climbers(experimental group)and ten male subjects(control group)were recruited.Four differ ent oxygen concentrations:20.9%,16%,13% and 10% were chosen to demonstrate the hypoxic effects on human.The study applied the method to explain the cognitive function of climbers under various simulated high alt itude.ResultsIn experimental group,there was an increase in N100 amplitude component of ERP and a decrease in N100 latency component which were attributed to an accompanying decrease in oxygen saturation.The control group had no evident trend in the two components.In control group,in P300 amplitude between 10% oxygen concentration and sea level there was a significant difference(P<0.05),and there was an increase in P300 latency component which was attributed to an accompanying decrease in oxygen saturation,experimental group had no evident trend in the two components.There was a difference between experimental group and control group in P300 components(P<0.05).ConclusionLong-term hypoxic exposure may affect the function of attention and delay the evaluation step of information processing.

ObjectiveTo know drug-resistance and plasmid homology of SA in medical environment and provide data for controlling nosocomial infection in hospital environment.MethodsFive wards from two provincial hospitals in Lanzhou city were selected to collect different location samples randomly.Isolating,culturing,identifying and testing susceptibility of SA,plasmid elimination,plasmid profile and restriction endonuclease profile were used to analyze the homology.Results15 (7.7%)SA were isolated from 196 samples,the highest SA positive rate is air(19.1%).60.0% of SA isolated was resistant to PG and 4617% was resistant to more than three antibiotics.12(80.0%)strains of SA have plasmids between 1.06~39.93kb,3 strains have same resistance profile and similar plasmid profile from hospital B.Restriction endonuclease profile shows 4 strains have 5 same kinds of plasmid.ConclusionAir is the SA high risk transmit pathway and drug resistance is serious,homological drug-resistant plasmid exists in SA strains sampled from differenthospitals and different wards.

ObjectiveTo understand the current resistance and genotype of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase(ESBLs)and AmpC-producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae and to perform homology analysis.MethodsAntibiotic susceptibility test was performed by Kirby-Bauer method.ESBLs-producing isolates were confirmed by double disk diffusion confirming test.AmpCβ-lactamases were detected by the three-dimensional test.PCR was performed to understand the genotype of ESBLs and AmpCβ-lactamases.DNA fingerprints of isolates were constructed by enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus PCR(ERIC-PCR).ResultsEnzyme-producing strains were more sensitive to Imipenem, Meropenem,Amikacin and Cefepime but resistant to 13 other antimicrobials.75.2%,35.8%,11.0%,4.6%,0.9%,4.6% and 4.6% of the isolates was found carried blaCTX-M,bla TEM,blaOXA,blaSHV,blaV EB-1,CIT and DHA gene,respectively,by PCR.In addition,46.8% of all strains carried more than oneβ-lactamase gene.The genotype of E.coli and K.pneu was divided into 42 and 22 clusters by ERIC-PCR.ConclusionAttention should be paid to multidrug resistance of enzyme-producing E.coli and K.pneu.BlaCTX-M and CIT,DHA were the predominant genotypes in ESBLs-producing and AmpC-producing strains.The prevalence of multidrug resistance clone in the clinic reminded us to control nosocomial infection effectively.

ObjectiveTo investigate the mechanism of attenuating effect of physical exercise on chronic stress-induced hippocampal damages through observing different effects of exercise and stress on 5-HT level and the mRNA expression level of 5-HT1A receptor(5-HT1A R).Methods24 adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups as follows:control group,exercise group,chronic stress group,exercise plus chronic stress group and 5-HT levels were detected by high-performance liquid chromatography using electrochemical detection,and the expression levels of 5-HT1A R mRNA were measured by real-time fluorescence quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(R T-FQ-PCR).ResultsCompared with the control group,5-HT levels in hippocampus increased significantly in the exercise group(P< 0101),decreased significantly in the chronic stress group(P<0.01).Compared with the chronic stress group,5-HT levels were slightly higher than exercise stress group without statistecal significance(P>0.05).The relative expression levels of 5-HT1AR mRNA in the exercise group and the chronic stress group are 4.49±1.59 and 0.22±0.06 times of those of the control group respectively with significant differences(P<0.01).The relative expression levels of 5-HT1A R mRNA in the exercise stress group are 0.87±1.22 times of those of the control group,significantly higher than those of the chronic stress group(P<0.05).ConclusionExercise attenuates chronic stress-induced hippocampal damages through improving the function of 5-HT system in hippocampus.The up-expression of the 5-HT1AR in hippocampus probably played a more important role.

ObjectiveTo probe into the effect of He-Ne laser on superoxide dismutase(SOD),malon-dialdehyde (MDA)and nitric oxide(NO)in the serum of the rats with myocar dial infarction.MethodsThe myocardial infarcted rats were ir adiated on their precordial regions by HE-Ne laser with certain intensity for different time to observe changes of serum free radical levels.ResultsCompared with the control group(44.28U/ml),the content of SODin myocar dial infarcted rats irridiated by He-Ne laser for 10 and 20 min increased significantly(48.86,50.22 U/ml,P<0.05).Compared with the control group(4.78 nmol/L),the content of serum MDA decreased significantly(3.94,3.99 nmol/L,P<0.05).By 20min irradiating,compared with the control group(286.46μmol/L),the content of NO in rats.serum increased significantly (388.86μmol/L,P<0.05).ConclusionHe-Ne laser irradiation on the precordial region has certain significance in treating coronary heart disease and myocardial ischemia.

ObjectiveTo investigate the epidemic characteristics and etiological distribution of adult patients with community-acquired pneumonia(CAP)in Taiyuan,and to povide scientific basis for constituting preventive strategies and measures.Methods243 cases of CAP patients were collected in Taiyuan from Dec.2006 to Dec.2007.On the spot investigation and laboratory detection methods were used in the research.The pathogenic detection included tens of pathogen like streptococcus pnenmoniae,pneumonia mycoplasma IgM antibody,pneumonia chlamydia IgG antibody and legioella-DNA,etc.ResultsThe majority of adult CAP patients in Taiyuan were the elderly people,soldiers and migrant workers from rural areas.Its epidemic senson was in winter and spring.Three most important pathogens for CAP were streptococcus pneumoniae,pneumonia mycoplasma and legionella.The streptococcus pneumoniae was highly resistant to penicillin and macrolides,buthighly sensitive to the third generation cephalosporin and glycopeptide antibiotics.ConclusionThe streptococcus pneumoniae is the main pathogen for CAP and atypical pathogens especially pneumonia mycoplasma play important roles in CAP in Taiyuan.The mixed infection of bacteria and atypical pat hogens can't be ignored.

ObjectiveTo determine whether ag matine and nimodipine can prevent the toxic effects of manganese on glu-tamine synthetase,phosphate activated glutaminase,Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase in rat striatum.Methods32 Wistar rats were divided into four groups by weight at randomization.The first group was the control group,the second group was given MnCl2 only.The third and fourth groups were given agmatine and nimodipine respectively.The administration lasted 4 weeks.24 hours after the lastinjection,the activities of glutamine synthetase and phosphate activ ated glutaminase in striatum,the activities of Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase in pallium were determined.ResultsCompared with the control group,the activities of glutamine synthetase [(50.41±5.47)U/(min·g·pro)],Na+-K+-ATPase [(2.13±0.15)Lmol/(h·mg)]and Ca2+-ATPase [(0.56±0.28)Lmol/(h·mg)] in the second g roup decreased significantly(P<0.01).The activity of phosphate activated glutaminase [(72.24±9.38)Lmol/min·g·pro)]increased significantly(P<0.01).Compared with the second group,the activities of glutamine snthetase,Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase in the third and fourth groups increased significantly(P<0.01).And the activity of phosphate activated glutaminase decreased significantly(P<0.01).ConclusionAgmatine and nimodipine have certain protective effects on the excitotoxicity induced by manganese in Wistar rats.

ObjectiveTo study the effects of selenium on the vacolating cytotox in(VacA)and the recombinanted VacA of Helicobacter pylori(Hp).MethodsThe VacAof Hp was purified by salting out,dialysis,gel filtration and concentration.The pET 32a-vacA-E.coli BL21(DE3)bacteria were cultivated and the recombinanted plasmids were analysed by restriction endonuclease.The recombinanted VacAprotein was purified by Ni-TEDTM kit and identified by SDS-PAGE and Western blot.Different concentrations of VacA,recombinanted VacAand selenium(Se)were added into the SGC-7901 cells,then the changes of the cell cycle of SGC-7901 were obser ved by spectrophoto meter,inverted microssope,transmission electron microscope and Flow Cytometry.ResultsThe configuration of Hp was changed by Se(12 mmol/l).The proliferation inhibition of recombinanted VacA on the SGC-7901 cells was streng thened by Se.The percentage of G1 phase cells was increased and of the Sphase cells was decreased by Se.Brickred appeared after Se was added into the E.coli.ConclusionSe can inhibit the proliferation of Hp and decrease the production of VacA,butit fails to inhibit the cellular vacolation effect of VacA.Se can improve the inhibitive effects of the recombinant VacAon the SG C-7901 and decrease the VacAexpression by inhibiting the Hp proliferation.But Se fails to reduce the cellular vacolation of VacA directly.

ObjectiveTo study the influence of chlorella on the immune system of healthy mice.Methods60 BALB/c mice were selected and divided randomly into four groups.Different doses of chlorella pyrenoidosa[0,0.15,1.50,4.50g/(kg·bw)]were administered to the mice orally for 30 days.A series of classical tests were adopted to evaluate the effects.ResultsThe weight gain of the mice administered with chlorella pyrenoidosa was higher than that of the control,and the difference has statistical significance(P<0.05).The ratio of spleen/body weight,delayed hypersensitivity response,the lymphocyte transformation of mice induced by conA,the phagocytotic ability of macrophages,NK cell activity were all higher than those of the control and had statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The ratio of thymus gland/body weight,the number of antibody-producing cells,the amount of hemolytic antibody and the phagocytotic ability of macrophages for chicken erythrocytes were higher than those of the control,too.But there was no statistically significant difference(P<0.05).ConclusionChlorella pyrenoidosa with disintegrated cell wall can modulate the immune system of healthy mice.

ObjectiveTo know the status of knowledge about reproductive health in rural residents.MethodsIn the project counties of Anhui and Xinjiang province random cluster sampling was used to select population studied and face to face interview was carried out in J anuary,2006.ResultsThe knowledge of traditional contraceptive methods,emergency method was very poor among the population studied.1412% of the subjects didn't know any contraceptive method.Different gender and marriage has significant difference in knowing contraceptive methods(χ2=19.404,P=0.000).The percentage of unmarried female,male and married female and male knowing three contraceptive methods was 92.9%,91.1% 78% and 76.7%,respectively.The percentage of knowing 4~5 contraceptive methods was 17.9% and 19.3% in married population.The percentage of unknown of any symptom of RTI/STDs in unmarried women,married women,unmarried man and married man was 88.1%,83.5%,87.6% and 81.6%.40% of the subjects knew about three routes of HIV transmission,but 5.1% of the still had the wrong knowledge about HIV transmission.ConclusionThe status of knowledge about reproductive health in rural residents in Xingjiang and Anhui still to be improved.

ObjectiveTo explore the acute toxic mechanism of methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE)by detecting the Fos protein expression,the activity of Na+,K+-ATPase,Ca2+-ATPase and the structure changes of nerve cell and neuroglia in the cerebral cortex Methods 66 adult SD rats were randomly divided into control and experimental groups.The MTBE exposure dose was 0,700,1 050,1 400 mg/(kg·bw)and the control group with the same doses of normal saline njected into abdominal cavity.The immunohistochemical method(SABC method)was used to detect the Fos protein in the cerebral cortex.The spectrophotometric method was used to measure the activity change of the Na+,K+-ATPase,Ca2+-ATPase in the cerebral cortex.The patholog ical study(Nissl staining)and immunohistochemical method(GFAP)were performed with optical microscope to observe histopathological changes in nerve cell and neuroglia cell of the cerebral cortex.ResultsThe expression of the Fos protein in cerebral cortex was increased when ex posed to MTBE 700,1 050,1400 mg/(kg·bw).The expression of the Fos protein in cerebral cortex was changed in different time(0.5,1.0,2.0,4.0,8.0 h)afterexposed to MTBE 1.050 mg(kg·bw)2 The expression of the Fos began to increase in 0.5 h and reached the peak at 1.0 h,and then reduced in 2.0h,recovred to normal level in 8.0 h.The activity of Na+,K+-ATPase,Ca2+ATPase in cerebral cortex decreased dramatically in 1.0 h compared with the contro l(P<0.05).The activity of Na+,K+-ATPase,Ca2+-ATPase recovered to nor mal level(P>0.05)in 8.0 h.The structure change was not observed obviously in the nerve cell and the neurog lia.ConclusionThe acute toxic effect of MTBE can be resulted in the cerebrum.MTBE can reduce the activity of the Na+,K+-ATPase,Ca2+-ATPase,affect the energy metabolism of the nerve cell following the inhibitory action of cerebrum.The structure changes of the nerve cell and the neuro glia are not observed obviously when MTBE has an acute toxic effect on cerebr um.

ObjectiveTo understand the morbidity of influenza-like illness(ILI)and influenza vaccination status of Guangzhou residents,thus providing scientific basis for health promotion.MethodsComputer Assisted Telephone Interviewing System(CA TI)was adopted to do a population-based ILI incidence and influenza vaccination status survey in community residents.ResultsAltogether 1 462 Guangzhou families(4 794 persons)were investigated.Lower age group was the main target of seasonal influenza,and the epidemic peak occurred in the 2nd season with the highest incidence of 7.65%.Vaccinated population was mainly under 30 years of age.Inoculated under corporation/organization(52%)was the primary reasons for vaccination,whereas ‘no necessary for inoculation' and ‘know nothing about inoculation' were the primary reason for no-vaccination.Using direct standardization method,ILI incidence among Guangzhou residents in 2006 was estimated to be 22.9%,and influenza vaccination rate was 7.24%.ConclusionTelephone survey is a convenient and feasible investigation method to understand ILI morbidity of community residents.Influenza epidemic peak occurs through April to June.Lower age group especially children under 10 years of age is still the target population of ILI onset.Vaccination awareness of Guangzhou residents is generally low,and promotion and dissemination for influenza vaccination education needs to be reinforced and ful-filled.

ObjectiveTo understand the status of detection and report and direct network report of emergent public health incidents happenmg in Chongqing in order to provide basis for strengthening the construction of emergency response system.MethodsThe same questionnaire sur vey was carr ied out for 287 emergent pubic health incidents at 34 centers for disease control and prevention(CDCs).ResultsThe direct network report system of all CDCs were managed by specific people.61.8% of the CDCs considered that 90% of emergent pubic health incidents could be reported directly by network.64.7% of the CDCs carried out annual analysis of direct network report.72.1% of the emergent pubic health incidents were reported by medical institution.The major way of report was telephone(92.3%).85.5% of the emer gent pubic health incidents were initially verified within 2 hours,and 66.9% of the ver ification were finished within 6 hours.44.3% of the emergent pubic health incidents were verified with laboatory test.93.7% of incidents was confirmed as emergent pubic health incidents at last.ConclusionEmergent pubic health incidents,preliminary response mechanism,report and managementhave been set up at different levels of CDCs in Chongqing.However,management showld be further strengthened to improve the direct network report.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo study the effects of high selenium panaxjaponicus extracts on serum lipids and antioxidative enzyme in hyperlipidemic rats.MethodsThe hyperlipidemic model was established by feeding rats with high-fat diet.After 4 weeks the serum lipids and antioxidative enzymes content were determined respectively.ResultsCompared with the model,high-selenium panax japonicus extracts lowered the serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-c)malondialdehyde(MDA),increased high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-c),total antioxidative capacity(T-AOC),superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathioneperoxidaes(GSH-Px)activities significantly(P<0.05 or P<0.01).ConclusionHigh-selenium panax japonicus extracts can lower the serum lipid level,enhance the antioxidation and inhibit the lipid peroxidation in the rats with hyperlipidemia.

ObjectiveTo well understand the perceived health status and its affecting factors of rural residents aged 15 and above.MethodsThe sample was randomly chosen by using cluster-based sampling method and the subjects were interviewed by using both self-made questionnaire and Kessler 10 rating scale.SPSS was used to analyze the data.ResultsThere were significant differences among residents of different sex,age,marriage status and education level(P<0.05).The perceived health status of rural residents was related to their body and mental health status and affected by the subject's personality.ConclusionWe should pay attention to the study of perceived health status,enhance mental health care and improve the health level and life quality of rural residents.

ObjectiveTo analyze neuropsy chiatric symptoms and their influencing factors in elder people in communities of Baoding city.MethodsBy using stratification-cluster method,2 189 people overage of 60 were investig ated with the international neuropsychiatric inventory(NPI).The factors influencing the symptoms were analyzed by Logistic regression.ResultsThe prevalence rate of neuropsychiatric symptoms in elder people was 17.77%.Those people with poor education,living alone,low income,introversion,ser ious diseases,no interestin sport,high position before retirement were likely to suffer from the sympto ms.ConclusionNeuropsychiatric symptoms in elder people shouldn't beignored.Those elder people should be educated in health and mentality.Their living conditions and quality should be improved so as to prevent their mental problems.

ObjectiveTo know the migrant worker's status of medical insurance in Chongqing in orde to provide basis for related departments to perfect the policy of medical insurance for migrant workers.MethodsWith the self-made questionnaire,884 migrant workers from six districts of Chongqing were sampled and surveyed.SAS 9.1 software was used to analyze the data.Results45.53% of migrant workers did not take part in any medical insurance.95.37% of the assured joined in new pattern country cooperation medical insurance.Among 4.7 people who did not join in new pattern country cooperation medical insurance,48.2% of them answered "never heard about" and 26.38% of them answered "It is impossible to be assured in the city",62.53% of them were reluctant to pay for it by themselves.The attitude towards medical insurance is mainly affected by sex,eductaion,marrital status and the time working in the city.ConclusionTo fulfill the policy of medical insurance among migrant worker both the migrant workers'effort and the governmental support are needed.

ObjectiveTo study the situation of sexual and reproductive health of unmarried floating population.MethodsData of the survey on sexual and reproductive health of floating population in 2004 was analyzed with SPSS by descriptive statistical method.Results65% of subjects did not know chancroid was STD and 40.4% did not know pointed condyloma was STD.58.6% of subjects thought mosquitoes'bite was one of routes of AIDS infection.12% of males and 20.8% of females knew about the 14th day before menstruation being the time susceptible to conception.41.6% of males and 36.8% of females thought masturbation was harmful.60% of males and 46.7% of females agreed to provide the unmarried with condoms.49.4% of males and 33.3% of females thought it understandable for a man having no sexual behavior for a long time to go whenching.53 subjects were cohabiting.16.7% of males and 11% of females had sexual behavior in last month before the study.ConclusionUnmarried floating population is lack of sexual and reproductive health knowledge,and reproductive services for them should be strengthened.

ObjectiveTo explore the association between breastfeeding and obesity,overweight and prov ide scientific evidence for the prevention.MethodsEighthundreds adults aged 35~45 years old were sampled in Harbin randomly.Data were collected by questionnaires and physical exam.Body mass index(BMI)was used as the diagnosis standard of obesity and over weight.ResultsAdult's obesity rate of NBF(not breastfeeding)group,mixed breastfeeding group and pure breastfeeding group was 21.21%,12.08%,11.31%,respectively,without statistical difference(χ2=5.287,P=0.071).Overweight rate of the three groups was 45.45%,37.68%,28.89%,respectively with statistical difference(χ2=10.482,P=0.005).Overweight rate of NBF group was higher than that of pure breastfeeding group(χ2=7.493,P<0.05).The differences of obesity rate and overweight rate between NBF and breastfeeding group all had statistical significance(P<0.05),but there was no dose response relation between pure breastfeeding time and adult obesity rate and overweight rate.Among various influence factors,breastfeeding was a protective one to reduce adult obesity with a decreased risk of 0.816.Birth weight,mother BMI and energy intake increased the risk of obesity by 1.516,1.922 and 1.738 times,respectively.ConclusionBreastfeeding have some influence on preventing adult from obesity and overweight,rational breastfeeding should be strongly recommended.

ObjectiveTo dicuss the dose-effect of perfluorooctane sulfonate on excitatory amino acids(EAAs)in rat central nervus system.MethodsWistar rats were treated once by gastric perfusion method with 215,25,50 mg/kg PFOS and the controls received same valume vehicle(2% tween-80).After 24 hours of the treatment,the rats in all groups were sacrificed.The contents of glutamate(Glu),aspartate(Asp),glycine(Gly)and gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)in brain tissues were determined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).ResultsAsp content in 12.5,50 mg/kg group were(1.24±0.109),(1.11±0.452)μmol/g,and there was significant difference compared with control group(1.51±0.076)μmol/g(P<0.05).Glu did not show evident changes.Gly contents in 12.5,25,50mg/kg group were(0.82± 0.201),(1.09±0.215),(1.12±0.395)μmol/g and there was significant difference compared with control group(1.54±0.120)μmol/g(P<0.05).GABA contents in 12.5,25 mg/kg group were(1.52±0.187),(1.68±0.188)μmol/g,and there was significant difference compared with control group(2.03±0.370)μmol/g(P<0.05).ConclusionEAAs appears to be related with the development of inhibited activity and then excitatory symptom of central nervus system after low dose PFOS exposure.

ObjectiveTo investigate rodents.natural infection of vOrientia tsutsugamushi(Ot)in Tai'an area of Shandong,China.MethodsThe Ot-Sta56KDa gene of ro dents captured from Tai'an was identified by nested poly merase chain reaction(nPCR).Positive samples were sequenced,and the DNA sequences were compared with nucleotide sequences of Ot registered in GenBank for sequence homology analysis.Phylogenetic analysis about the Ot in Tai'an and some published sequences was carried out with Neighbor-joining method by MEGA3.1 software.ResultsAtotal of 68 ro dents were captured in Tai'an area,including 24 Apodemus agrarius,34 Rattus norvegicus and 10 Mus musculus.The overall positive rate of rodents with infection of Ot was 5.88%.There was no significant difference in infection rates among the rodents species(Fisher χ2=4.714,P=0.062).In addition,3 embryos without Ot infection of rodents were captured.Comparing with the sequences of Ot registered in GenBank,the Ot-Sta56 nucleotide sequences of 08Pand 53Pboth shared 99.77% of homology with Sdu-1 strain,95.98% with Tag uchi and Oishi strains,and 95.74% with Kanda and Kaw asaki str ains.The nucleot ide sequence of 55P shared 86.27% of homology with TA 686 str ain founded in Thailand,and the sequence of 56P shared 77.11% homology with TA 686 strain.Phylogenetic analysis showed that 08P and 53P were in the same branch with Sdu1 strain,and 55P and 56P were in the same branch with TA686 strain.ConclusionThis study indicated that Ot infection was presented in rodents from Tai'an.The genotypes of Ot were complex in Tai'an,with some were similar to Kawasaki strain and others were similar to TA686 strain in Thailand.

ObjectiveTo analyze the effectiveness of training and promotion of the technique of acupuncture at shoulder pain point for frozen shoulder tr eatment and to discuss main factors related with the effectiveness.MethodsMedical workers were chosen to take concentrated training and then returned back to their medical institutions for the generalization of the technique.Relevant info rmation was got by follow-up and investigation.Effectiveness of the training and gener alization was analysed.ResultsAfter training,the average score of the trainees got a 49.04 incnease,and the awareness rate also got an increase of 42.61%.The rates of requirement and mastering by medical workers were both 100%.The rate of usage and effectiveness was 40.74%,93.45%,respectively.ConclusionThe training and promotion of the acupuncture at shoulder pain point for frozen shoulder were effective.The technique is greatly suitable for the generalization among rural dwellers.

ObjectiveTo study the collagen's development and diversification by using Yi Qi Hou Xue(YQHX)pre-scription of Chinese medicine in pulmonary fibrosis rats at different time and diverse org ans.MethodsEighty male SPF-rate Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups,20 in each group,i.e.the normal control group,the model group,the YQHX group and the hydrocortisone group.Pulmonary fibrosis rat model was formed by bleomycin injection via trachea.The ratio of Ⅲ and Ⅰ collagen at different time and diverse organs was observed by two distinct dy ing methods of picrosirus red and Harris-Einfred.ResultsOn the 28th day after YQHX treatment,the levels of Ⅲ and ⅳ collagen was decresed,and the ratio showed statistically significant difference compared to model group(P<0.05).And it showed no statistically significant difference on the 7th day after the treatment.ConclusionThe YQHX prescription could inhibit the process of airsacculitis and prevent pulmonary fibrosis to some extent.
