Abstract:
Objective To probe the association of single nucleotide polymorphism-SNP43 in Calpain 10 gene with genetic susceptibility to type 2 diabets in kunming plateau districts.
Methods The polymorphism of site UCSNP43(G/A)in Calpain 10 gene was detected by poly merase chain reaction and Allele specific amplification(PCR-ASA)in 131 type 2 diabetic patients and 131 non-diabetic controls who were selected using cas-econtrol study in the Kunming urban communities.
Results (1) The frequency of "G" allele and "GG" allele of site UCSNP43 in diabetic patients was significantly higher than thatin the controls.(2)Genotype of "GG" of site SNP43 was related with type 2 diabets, odd ratio was 2.24, P=0.006.
Conclusion Site SNP43 of Calpain 10 gene may be associated with genetic susceptibility to type 2 diabets in Kunming population.
