Abstract:
Objective To examine the status and influencing factors of hepatitis B vaccination among college students in Yucheng city of Shandong province, and to provide references for the prevention and control of hepatitis B.
Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted in 3 072 undergraduates recruited with stratified random sampling from two universities in Yucheng city from June 2014 to June 2016.
Results Among the students, 1 803 reported the history of hepatitis B virus vaccine inoculation, with a vaccination rate of 58.69%. Multivariate unconditional logistic regression analysis revealed that the students with a hepatitis B related knowledge score of≥7 were more likely to have hepatitis B vaccination; while, those not majoring in medicine and residing in a rural area before entering a university were more unlikely to have the vaccination.
Conclusion The vaccination rate of hepatitis B virus vaccine is not high and influenced by majoring, family residence, and level of knowledge about hepatitis B among college students in Yucheng city of Shandong province.
