Abstract: Objective:To analyse status quo functional par ameters of students and relation between functioal items and Vervaeck index.Data collected from the survey on growth and development of 11337 students aged 7 to 18 years in Chongqing of 1997.Methods:All Vervaeck indexes were divided into three categories(three groups)according to sex and age.The differences of vital capactity,systolic and diastolic blood pressures between strong type(first group)and thin type(third group)were mainly analysed.Results:Vital capacity,systolic and diastolic blood pressures of students tended to rise accordingly with the rising of age.Vital capacity, systolic and diastolic blood pressures of male students were bigger than female students in most age groups.Vital capactity,systolic and diastolic blood pressures of first group were bigger than third group in same sex and age.Conclusion:Morphological items are closely related with vital capacity and blood pressures.The early prevention of high blood pressure must enhance supercision of blood pressures of students who belong to strong type.
