Abstract: The first HIV carrier was found in 1994 in Chengdu. The amount of HIV infected cases has been increasing in recent years. AIDS preventing becomes one of important problem that Chengdu municipal government faces to. In order to control AIDS, the government has launched a large amount of work for AIDS preventing. AIDS preventing has taken some initial progress. The leading group of AIDS preventing has been built up.《Medium and long term plan of AIDS preventing in Chengdu》was issued. HIV surveillance was launched in high-risk population. But many problems need to solve. The problem of ineffective coordination among concerned organization of government, small recoverrate surveillance, deficient base-line material, unreasonable propaganda way and inadequate preventing fund still exist in Chengdu. To improve this situation, Chengdu municipal government should readjust propaganda way, strengthen coordination, invest more money into AIDS preventing and launch extensive investigation.
