Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between serumtrace elements and coro nary heart disease(CHD).Methods Apaired-matched case-control study was carried out,and Optical Spectrum Sweeping instrument was used to deter mine that trace elements of total 17 in serum in patients(n=186)with CHD and a control group(n=186).Datum was amalyzed with T-tets,ANOV,Discriminant-analysis.Results In patients with CHD the serum contents of Fe,Cd,Pb,Ni,Ag increased;the contents of Cu,Cr,Si,Sc,Sr,Mo decreased.Alteration of Fe,Cd,Pb and Cu,Cr,Si was greater.Higher level of Fe,Cd in plasma is very risk,and Cu,Cr is defensive factor of CHD.The effect of elements on individual showed certain law in element periodic table,in most cases the elements would produce harmful effects when theiratomic weight,atomic number and activity increased.Serum contents of trace elements Fe,Cd,Cu,Cr were better discerning index for CHD.Conclusion The CHD is related with changes in plasma levels of trace elements.Fe,Cd,Cu,Cr are impoortant influential factors of CHD.Trace element are going to play the significant role in prevention,controlling and diagnosis,curing for CHD.
