Abstract: ObjectiveTo explore the main health problems and its countermeasure for the old population in Guiyang City.MethodsOne thousand seven hundred and seven old people were surveyed on the health state by census and questionnaire in Weiqing community in Guiyang City.ResultsThe findings of our study demonstrated that a higher prevalence of chronic diseases, losing the ability of activities of daily living(ADL),mental bar riers and social adaptation barriers caused by a lower socio-economical rank were the main problems to the old population.ConclusionDeveloping community elderly health service,combining community health service with health education,is a important countermeasure to resolve elderly health problems in Guaiyang City.
