Abstract: ObjectiveTo conduct health education against HIV/AIDSamong drug users in time.MethodsBased on design of cross-sectional study,a survey was conducted on the characteristics of drug abuse and sex behaviors for 256 drug users in two detox ification centers of Xi'an.ResultsMost of drug user were young men with lowereducation level,and were unmarried or devoced,most of them had no jobs or were private owners.The primary drug used was hero in taken by mouth mainly and there seemed a rise of intravenous drug use.As to sex beaviors,most of drug users had multiple sex partners and premarital/extramarital sex was ommon,but the rate of condom use was quite lower.Most of intravenous drug users did not share syringes,but reuse was common.ConclusionIt was necessary to develop health education against HIV/AIDS among the drug users,especially intravenous drug users in Xi'an.
