Abstract:
ObjectiveIn order to review the changes in cellular immune function in pregnant women with iron deficiency.
MethodsT lymphocyte subsets level(CD
3+、CD
4+ and CD
8+)and nature kill cells activity(CD16)were determined in 128 iron deficiency pregant women,52 normal prenant women and 50 women before pregnancy were examined.
ResultsThe level of T lymphocyte subsets, percentages of CD
3+ and CD
4+ cells as well as the ratio of CD
4+/CD
8+ cells in the pregnant women were signficantly lower than that of those non-pregnant women.During pregnancy, with the increase of iron deficiency, the percentages of CD
3+ and CD
4+ cells in bodies of pregnant women decreased. The pregnant women of iron deficiency anemia (IDA)reduced percentages of CD
3+ and CD
4+ cells as well as the ratio of CD
4+/CD
8+ compared with normal pregnant women (
P<0.01,
P<0.05,
P<0.05);The percentage of CD 16 in pregnant women of IDA was lower than that of normal pregnant women, but no significant change.
ConclusionThere was significant effects of iron deficiency on T lymphocyte subsets level during pregnancy. The relationship between iron deficiency and nature kill cells activity needed to be studied further.
