Abstract:
Objective To investigate the knowledge of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS)of migrant workers in Tsinghua University.
Methods About 1150 migrant workers were chosen by random sampling method.They were surveyed by using questionnaire about AIDS.
Results 83.9% of the respondents was clear about the 3 transmission routes of AIDS.However only 30.5% of the interviewees knew the ways by which the disease was not transmission.More than half of interviewees did not aware all 5 main questions about governmental policies for AIDS.Univariate analysis showed that influence factors of score of awareness were gender, hometown, age, workplace, education, marital status and income.Multiple linear step regression analysis showed that factors of influencing scores of awareness were gender age, education, hometown attitude to learning knowledge about AIDS and experience for education of AIDS.
Conclusion Education to migrant workers is a bottleneck problem in community.Health education of AIDS for high-risk people, such as migrant workers, should be emphasized in community service.
