Abstract: Objective To investigate the influence factors of obesity and chronic diseases in the rural communties.Methods Participants aged over 18 years old were selected randomly by cluster sampling technique from tow rural communities in Henan.A crooss-sectional study with quest ionnaire interview,physical examination and biochemical test were done for all participants.Chi-square test,t test and Logistic regression analysis were employed to analyze the association between obesity and related diseases.Results A total of 993 subjects participated in the study.The prevalence rates of overweight,general and abdominal obesity among adults were 32.43%,15.91% and 48.44%,respectively.Compared with normal weight,the odds ratio(OR)for hypertension,abnormal triglycerides and abnormal low-density lipidprotein cholesterol concentrations for overweight and obesity were 2.64,2.46,1.96 and 4.08,5.87,3.38,respectively,more over,the odds ratios for hypertersion,diabetes,high triglycerides and obesity were,for abdominal obestity vs.normal weight,2.60,1.63,4.60 and 3.44,respectively.Conclusion Obesity was associated with hypertension,diabetes and dyslipidamia closely.
