Abstract:
Objective To promote the disease-specific scale used in measuring quality of life of patients with HIV/A IDS.The reliability and validity of simplified Chinese version of MOS-HIV was evaluated.
Methods The reliability and validity of MOS-HIV was assessed in three aspects:internal consistency, correlation between every item and its own domain, factor structure.
Results The overall Cronbach'sαcoefficient was 0.81 and the value ofαin 8 multi-item domains of MOS-HIV ranged from 0.66 to 0.86.Every item-domain correlation coefficient was significant and most coefficients were larger than 0.5.Factor analysis showed that no matter three or two factors were extracted, every factor was explainable. The two-factor structure largely reproduced that of the original validation study of English version and traditional Chinese character version.
Conclusion MOS-HIV showed good reliability and validity in general.Although the author of MOS-HIV prefered two factors generated from MOS-HIV,the study showed that three factors(overall quality of life factors was added)can reflect the structure of MOS-HIV more comprehensive.
