Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between suicide behaviors and social character among men who have sex with men(MSM).Methods Two hundred and twenty eight MSM were recruited to participate in the study by using Respond Drive Sampling(RDS)and informative key person's referral and internet advertising in Hefei,and were surveyed by using health status questionnaire.Results Of the participants,1015 percent reported with suicidal idea and 319 percent reported suicidial plan in the pastmonth month,and 1114 percent actually attempted suicide in the past month.Experience of social discrimination including humosexual orientation hurting family,family refusing homosexual,being hit for homosexual orientation,suffering from STDs,having peers less than three,average monthly salary less than 500 Yuan in the past 6 months were associated with suicidal idea.Family refusing homosexual orientation,married,education less than college,cruising public toilet,large gay social event,having peers less than three,were associated with suicidal attempt.Conclusion Reduing social discrimination can decrease the suicide behaviour among MSM.
