Abstract: ObjectiveTo develop and validate the quality of life instruments for chronic diseases-hypertention(QLICDHY).MethodsThe programmed decision-making method was used to develop a scah associated with our domestic language and culture.The psychometric properties of the instrument were evaluated by analyzing the data from 157 patients with hypertension.The statistic methods used in this research included statistic descriptions,Pearson correlation,factor analysis,and pairedt student test.ResultsThe QLICD-HY was developed with 30 item of general module and 17 items of specific modale.Most coeflidents of internal consistency are above 0.6 and test.retest reliability coefficients are above 0.8 for facet and domain scores;all of correlation coefficients between item and it's facet and domain are higher than the item with other facets and domains,and most of the r values are above 0.7.The scale has the ability to detect clinical change due to treatment.ConclusionThe QLICnHY is valid.reliable,sensitive and reasonable opearation in clinical settings,and it can be used to assess quality of life for patients with hypertension.
