Abstract:
ObjectiveTo understand the epidemic and distribution characteristic of
vibrio parahaemolyticus in Shenyang, analyze the typing possibility of
vibrio parahaemolyticus by repetitive element sequence-based PCR.
MethodsRepetitive Extragenic Palindromic PCR and Entero-bacterial Repetitive Intergenic Consensus PCR were used to generate DNA fingerprints for
vibrio parahaemolyticus.
Results40 clinical strains of
vibrio parahaemolyticus, representing a wide range of DNA patterns, were grouped into 16 and 4 patterns, with discrimination indexes of 0.953 and 0.5 by REP-PCR and ERIC-PCR,respectively.Pattern G was predominant, accounting for 20.0% of total count, according to REP fingerprints, and pattern D was predominant,67.5% of total count, according to ERIC fingerprints.
ConclusionRepetitive element sequence-based PCR can be used to type
vibrio parahaemolyticus, which is super to the serotyping method.
