Abstract: Objective To lay logical foundation of measures to alleviate the poverty because of illness by discussing the status of health and health care utiliztion among the rural poor in Weihai,Shandong province.Methods The sample,4550 participants,was randomly chosen by using stratified-cluster sapling method and was surveyed by using self-made question naire and the data was dealt and analyzed by SPSS 15.0 stat istical package.Results Compared to common population,the self-rated health status of the poor was worse(P=0.00)and the disease burden was heavier.Conclusion Given the poor level of health care utilizafion,the ability to utilize the health acre of the rural poor should be improved.
