Abstract: ObjectiveTo know the migrant worker's status of medical insurance in Chongqing in orde to provide basis for related departments to perfect the policy of medical insurance for migrant workers.MethodsWith the self-made questionnaire,884 migrant workers from six districts of Chongqing were sampled and surveyed.SAS 9.1 software was used to analyze the data.Results45.53% of migrant workers did not take part in any medical insurance.95.37% of the assured joined in new pattern country cooperation medical insurance.Among 4.7 people who did not join in new pattern country cooperation medical insurance,48.2% of them answered "never heard about" and 26.38% of them answered "It is impossible to be assured in the city",62.53% of them were reluctant to pay for it by themselves.The attitude towards medical insurance is mainly affected by sex,eductaion,marrital status and the time working in the city.ConclusionTo fulfill the policy of medical insurance among migrant worker both the migrant workers'effort and the governmental support are needed.
