Abstract:
ObjectiveTo investigate the mental health of medical practitioners.
MethodsHospital employees in 7 comprehensive hospitals of Jiangsu were investigated and evaluated using a designed questionnaire including symptom check list 90 (SCL-90).
ResultsTotally 1 800 questionnaires were sent out,and 1 418 qualified ones were collected,the response rate was 88.9%.The total mean score and factor scores except somatization were significantly lower in the hospital employees than those of the national(
P<0.05).The total mean scores and factotr scores of somatization,obsession-compulsion,depression,anxiety,hostility,psychoticism were all significantly lower in male hospital employees than those in female ones(
P<0.05)and there was no significant difference in other factor scores(
P>0.05).Hospital employees in different positions had different total mean scores and factor scores(
P<0.05).
ConclusionThe survey concluded that hospital employees in comprehensive hospitals of Jiangsu had better mental health than general population,male employees were better than females in terms of psychological health.
