Abstract: Objective To investigate defense styles of migrant workers in Shenzhen city.Methods Totally 1530 migran tworkers were assessed with defense style questionna re(DSQ)and Eysenck personality questionnaire(EPQ).Results DSQ score of the males on immature defense mechanisms(4.58±1.24)were significantly higher than that of the female(4.39±1.08).DSQ scores of mature defense styles on stable extraverts(5.48±1.07)and unstable extraverts(5.37±1.26)were significantly higher than that of on stable in troverts(5.05±1.14)and unstable introve rts(5.18±1.13).From high to low,DSQ scores on immature defense style were unstable in troverts(5.05±1.00),unstable extraverts(4.81±1.04),stable introverts(3.92±1.00)and stable extraverts(3.75±0.98).Conclusion Male migrant workers use more immature defenses tyles than the female.The defense style is different among workers with different personality.
