Abstract: ObjectiveTo investigate antibody levels of cerebrospinal meningitis serogroup Y and W135 in a healthy population,and to provide scientific basis for the prevention of meningitis.MethodsDuring September and November 2008,we used stratified random sampling method to enroll healthy people and ELISA method to test the antibody in the participants'blood sample.ResultsThe positive rate of serogroup Y antibody was 61.8% with a geometric mean concentration(GMC)of 2.33μg/mL;the positive rate of serogroup W135 antibody was 20.9% with a GMC of 1.32μg/mL.There was no significant difference in positive rate and the GMC of the antibody level between participants of different sex and with different location,but there was a difference between different age groups.ConclusionThe general level of antibody of meningitis serogroup Y and W135 is low.It is necessary to vaccinate the serogroup Y and W135 epidemic menigitis vaccine in the population of Hefei.
