Abstract: ObjectiveTo explore the relationship bewteen digitratio and aggressive behavior in male of Han nationality.MethodsTotally 1 358 male of Han nationality aged from 16 to 35 years were surveyed with revised aggression questionnaire.Of the participants,79 were selected as the violence tendency group,and 279 as normal group.Measurements were takenfrom the middle of the basal crease to the tip of the finger with electronic vernier caliper.ResultsPhysical aggression,verbal aggression,anger and hostility,and total score were evidently higher in violence tendency group than those of in normal group(P<0.001).In violence tendency group and normal group,the left index fingers(2D)were 73.02±3.55, 71.91±3.95 mm,respectively;the left ring fingers(4D)were 75.79±3.63,74.62±4.27 mm,respectively;the right ring fingers(4D)were 75.51±3.63,74.39±4.26 mm,respectively.There were significant differences in the index of left ring finger and the right ring finger between violence tendency group and normal group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in digitratio bewteen the two groups.In violence tendency group,The ratio of 2D:3Do n-left was significantly related to verbal aggression,hostility,and total aggression(r=0.271,0.268,0.272;P<0.05).The ratio of 2D:4D on left was significantly related to verbal aggression and hostility(r=0.244,0.223;P<0.05).The ratios of 3D:4D and 4D:5D on right were significantly related to hostility(r=0.266,-0.236;P<0.05).In normal group,the ratio of 2D:4D on left is significantly related to verbal aggression(r=0.126,P<0.05)and the ratio of 3D:5D on left was significantly related to anger(r=-0.126,P<0.05).ConclusionThere is are lation partly bewteen digitratio and aggressive behavior.
