Abstract:
ObjectiveTo analyze metabolic syndrome(MS)preva lence and its influence factors among community residents of Wenzhou city.
MethodsWith cluster random sampling,1 872 permanent residents above the age of 18 years were seleted for a cross sectional study including questionnaire survey,physical examination and laboratory test.
ResultsThe standardized prevalence rate of MS was 17.2% (13.1% in the males and 20.8% in the females).MS prevalence in creased with the increase of age.Logistic stepwise regression analysis showed that older age,female,family history of hypertension and diabetes,and taking a large amount of food were the risk factors of MS.High education,more occupational physical activity,participating in physical activity,moderate life and work stress,and more walking were inhibitive factors of MS.
ConclusionThere is a high prevalence of MS in community residents of Ouhai district, Wenzhou city and comprehensive measures should be taken as so on as possible to control the risk factors of MS.
