Abstract:
ObjectiveTo study the influence of anaerobic-anoxic-oxic-membrane biofilm system(A
2/O-MBS) on chemical oxygen demand(COD) and fecal coliform concentrations in domestic wastewater.
MethodsThe domestic wastewater was treated with an A
2/O-MBS.The concentrations of COD and fecal coliform in the wastewater were analyzed before and after the treatment and the difference was measured.
ResultsUnder the condition of bamboo charcoal/polyvinyl formal composite material of 100-120 mesh diameter as a carrier,at normal temperature and 12 hours of hydraulic retention time, the removement rates of COD was 99.45%,and the decrease rate of fecal coliform was 99.999% for the wastewater after treated with A
2/O-MBS.
ConclusionThe most of the organic matter and fecal coliforms in domestic wastewater could be removed by using the A
2/O-MBS.
