Abstract: Objective To examine the coverage and influencing factors of medical insurance among college students for the improvement of medical security system.Methods We selected 500 college students for a study on awareness of,satisfaction and suggestions to medical insurance with a questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview.Results The students were mostly young people(40.9%) with good health condition and 72% of them approved the insurance policies.However.The ulilization rate of the medical insurance was low and the efficiency of the insurance was poor among the students because of lack of awarness and knowledge about the insurance in the students and the deficit in promotion of the medical insurance in the colleges and among the public.Conclusion Enhancing propaganda,improving reimbursement ratio,adjusting medical insurance policy timely are important measures to promote the coverage and efficiency of medical insurance among college students.
