Abstract:
Objective To explore the relationship between family function and injury-related risk behaviors among senior high-school students for injury intervention in the studetns.
Methods A total of 1 448 senior high-school students selected with stratified random cluster sampling from eight high-schools in Yinchuan city were surveyed with adolescent injury-related risk behaviors questionnaire for high-school students and family adaptability,partnership,growth,affection,and resolve(APGAR)scale.
Results In the students the overall incidence of injury-related risk behaviors was 77.3%;the top three incidences of the injury-related risk behaviors were alcohol drinking(50.3%),fighting(23.3%),and smoking(17.2%),with the higher incidences in the males than in the females(
P<0.05 for all).For the students from dysfunctional families(29.9%),the incidences of alcohol drinking(56.5%),fighting(32.8%),and interenet addiction(21.0%)were higher than those of the students with good family function(
P<0.05 for all).The incidence of fighting injury-related risk behaviors was affected by partnership(
P<0.01)and resolve(
P<0.05)and the incidences of smoking and alcohol drinking injury-related risk behaviors were affected by partnership and affection in family functions(
P<0.05).
Conclusion The incidences of fighting,smoking and alcohol drinking injury-related risk behaviors are affected by family partnership,affection,and resolve.
