Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between personal-social development self-efficacy and health risk behaviors(smoking,injury behavior and internet addiction)among high school students and to provide a theoretical basis for the prevention of internet addiction,injury and smoking.Methods Using multi-stage cluster random sampling,we selected 1 072 high schools students in six high schools in Beijing and conducted a questionnaire survey among the students with Personal-Social Development Self-Efficacy Inventory(High-School Version)and Chinese Adolescent Health-Related Behavior Questionnaire.Results Totally 974 eligible questionnaires were collected,with an effective rate of 90.9%.Among the students,27.21%(262/963)had an attempt of smoking,15.4%(15/974)had history of suffering from serious injury,and 9.45%(92/974)had internet addiction.There was a statistically significant correlation between personal-social development self-efficacy and health risk behaviors(P<0.05).The students with lower score of personality and social development self-efficacy score were more likely to have injuriy,internet addiction,smoking,and other health risk behaviors.Conclusion There is a significant correlation between multiple dimensions of personal-social development self-efficacy and health risk behaviors and the score of personal-social development self-efficacy may be a predictor for health risk behaviors among high school students.
