Abstract: In the late 1990's,rapid assessment technology was increasingly used in public health research.Practical problem solving is the most important task for rapid assessment.Rapid assessment has charateristics of community public health need oriented,target group participation,multi-sectoral cooperation,focusing on equity,and with flexible research techniques.The occurrence and development,concept,methodology and the application in evidence-based public health policy research of rapid assessment were reviewed in this paper.
