Abstract:
Objective To investigate the prevalence and influence factors of suicidal behavior among adolescent students in Shenzhen city.
Methods Using two-stage random stratified cluster sampling,3206 students were recruited from 6 junior and 4 senior high schools and 4 vocational schools in Shenzhen city and a self-administered and anonymous survey was conducted among the students with a self-designed adolescent health knowledge questionnaire,Depression Self-Rating Scale for Children,and Childhood Trauma Questionnaire in 2014.Logistic regression analysis was used in data analysis.
Results Of the 3206 eligible respondents,20.70% and 3.96% reported suicide ideation and attempt during the previous 12 months.Multivariate analyses showed that female gender(odds ratio

Conclusion Suicidal behavior is not rare among adolescent students in Shenzhen city.Teachers and parents should play a more active role in suicide prevention interventions to reduce the incidence of suicide-related behavior.
