Abstract:
Objective To investigate the sequence type(ST) distribution of foodborne
Listeria monocytogenes(
Lm) isolated in Hebei province and to provide information for molecular epidemiological study of
Lm.
Methods The multi-locus sequence typing for
Lm described in website www.pasteur.fr/mlst was adopted to detect 69 foodborne
Lm stains isolated in Hebei province; Start2 and BURST were used in data analysis and UPGMA and SplitsTree were employed to establish evolutionary tree.
Results For the 69 isolates, 16 sequence types were identified and the Simposon's index of diversity was 89.98%, with a newly found stain-ST705.The preponderant STs were ST8, ST87, ST2, ST1, ST3 and ST9 among the 69 isolates.
Conclusion The preponderant STs of
Lm isolated in Hebei province are multiple and the distribution of STs is dispersed, suggesting genetic diversity of the isolates.
