Abstract: Drinking water disinfection is an effective way for removing pathogenic microorganisms in water,preventing infectious disease spread through water,and protecting the safety of drinking water.Developed countries such as the United States and some European countries conducted disinfection technology optimization and improvement first and had more experiences of application of the technology.This article summarizes current international application of drinking water disinfection technology,analyzes the mode and cases of drinking water disinfection technology application in the United States and European Union countires.The prospective of application and the trend of optimization of drinking water disinfection technology in urban and rural China are discussed with some suggestions considering current domestic application of the technology.
