Abstract: Objective To examine status and influencing factors of emergency supplies preparedness among college students in Heilongjiang province.Methods A questionnaire survey on emergency supplies preparedness was conducted among 1 806 students selected with multi-stage random cluster sampling from seven colleges in Heilongjiang province between March and May 2014.Results Of the college students surveyed,5.26% reported full preparedness of emergency supplies including medicine,food and water for 72 hours,flashlight,radio and extra batteries.Among the students,the trust score for self-rescue (4.20±0.97) was the highest,while that for the rescue conducted by volunteers (3.00±1.08)was the lowest.There were significant differences in preparing emergency supplies among the college students of different gender,residence,income,emergency attitude,emergency preparedness behavior tendencies,specific social trust (all P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that the promoting factors of emergency supplies preparedness were living in urban region (odds ratioOR=2.981,95% confidence interval95%CI=1.585-5.608),with higher behavioral tendency for emergency preparedness (OR=1.102,95%CI=1.021-1.188),and with higher specific social trust (OR=1.562,95%CI=1.134-2.152) among the students.Conclusion Emergency supplies preparedness is at a low level among college students in Heilongjiang province,suggesting that emergency-related education,information dissemination,and exercises need to be strengthened among the population,especially in rural regions.Goverment should improve efficiency and effect of emergency rescue and individual should also prepare for emergency.
