Wllingness to accept circumcision and its influence factors among floating population

Objective To study the wllingness to accept circumcision and its influence factors among floating population in Chongqing city.Methods Totally 750 floating males selected with random cluster sampling were surveyed with a self-administered questionnaire.Results There were 41.07% of the floating persons likely to accept the circumcision. Persons aged 22-29 years(P=0.02)and with the education level of college or higher(P=0.000)were more likely to accept circumcision.Regression analysis showed the influence factors of accepting circumcision were the know ledge of wrapping grow or phimosis inducing urinary tract infection(odds ratioOR=7.949,95% confidence intervalCI:1.29748.729),know ledge of surgical complications of circumcision(OR=0.111,95% CI:0.022-0.575);know ledge of wrapping grow or phimosis(OR=4826.936,95% CI:590.718-3 942 860),and having sexual behaviour during previous month (OR=72.02,95% CI:5.428-955.570).Conclusion There is a high acceptance rate of circumcision among floating male population in Chongqing area but the prevallence of circumcision is low because of the lack of relavent know ledge in the population.
