A Prospective Study of Relationship Between Smoking and the List of Death Reasons

  • A prospective study has been performed among 13000 adult men for finding the relationship between smoking and list of death reasons for ten years.The mortality of all death reasons is 119.12‰ for smoking population and 93.49‰ for non-smoking population during last ten years.The relative risk(RR) is 2.04 between smoking and the death reason of chronic bronchitis.RR is 3.03 between smoking and the death reason of lung cancer.RR is 1.34 between smoking and the death reason of cerebral haemorrhage.RR is 2.12 between smoking and the death reason of cerebral embolus.Compared smoking to non-smoking,average age of people survival(AAPS) of smoking population lost 2.71 years.AAPS of heavy smoking population lost 0.91 year compared with middle smoking population,as well as AAPS of middle smoking lost 0.6 year compared with light smoking.AAPS of population who began smoking before 20 years old lost 2.38 years compared with population who began smoking after 20 years old.
