Surfactant Protein A and Phospholipid Levels in BAL Fluids of Silicosis Patients

  • Objective To explore the biomarkers of early silicosis in the BAL fluids.By measuring surfactant protein A and phospholipid level.Method The 13 term 0+ and 5 term Ⅰsilicosis patients were studied according to x-ray diagnosis. And 7 healthy smoking peasants were selected as a control group. The BAL fluid with fibro endoscopy was collected and the levels of surfactant protein A(SP-A)and phospholipid(PL)levels in the BAL fluids were measured with ELISA and HPLC.Result The levels of SP-A,PL in BAL fluid in 0+ and Ⅰ term silicosis group had no differ ences to that in the control group. The SP-A/PL in 0+ term group was higher and the PG/PI in term group was less respectively than those values in the control group. Conclusion The increase of SP-A/PL and decrease of PG/PI in BAL may be effect biomarkers for early silicosis.
