The Study on Risk Factors of Essential Hypertension(EHT)among Rural Women.

  • Objective To find out the risk factors of hypertension in adult women of rural areas.Method 24916 aged 40 and over rural women in four counties were randomly cluster sampled and investigated by questionnaire and medical examination.Results By stepwise regression analysis,the result demonstrated that EHT was associated with age.Body Mass Index(BMI),salt intake,oil intake,vegetable intake,tea drinking,passive smoking,drinking,sleep time,marr iage status,and parents hypertension history.It has been identified that the risk factors related with woman hypertension,except for menstruation regulation,there were statistical significance on these factors such as breast feeding number of deliveries and maternal ill.Among these factors,breast feeding,tea drinking.oil intake,vegetable intake,sleep time are protective factors.Conclusion Prevention of Diet and behavior risk factors should be strengt hened on EHT.
