Analysis on Factors Affecting Bone Mass Density of Menopausal Women in Village

  • Objective To analyse factors affecting the menopausal women,so that appropriate methods can be taken to prevent osteoporosis. Methods The proximal-forearm bone mass density of 224 menopausal country women were measured by peripheral dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry(pDEXA)and other data were collected according to questionnaire.T-test,bi-variable regression analysis and multi-variable regression analysis were applied in this study. Results Age,years since menopause, and low body weight were the major risk factors for low bone mass density, while hig her supply of aquatic products would increase the value of proximal-forearm bone mass density. Conclusion Menopausal aged women having lower weight were the high risk population of osteoporosis, estrogen was suggested to prevent osteoporosis in them.
