Detection and Analysis of Pre S1 Antigen in Blood, Urine and Saliva of Patients with HBV Infection

  • ObjectiveTo study the presence of Pre S1 antigen in the patients' blood, urine and saliva with HBV infection and the relation to the other signs.MethodsThe 81 blood, 63 urine and 67 saliva were collected from 81 patients with Hepatitis B; and 73 blood, urine, and saliva were collected respectively from 73 asymptomatic HBsAg carriers.HBsAg, HBeAg, Pre S1 antigen and Pre S2 antigen were detected with ELISA kit, and HBV-DNA with nucleic acid hybridization.ResultsThe positive rate of Pre S1 antigen were 67.5%,27.2% and 22.1% in blood, urine and saliva respectively. The detectable rate of all markers was lower in asymptomatic HBsAg carriers than in hepatitis B patients.ConclusionThe Pre S1 antigen can be detected in the blood, urine and saliva of Hepatitis B patients and symptomatic HBsAg carriers. The Pre-S1 antigen may be a good mark to indicate viral replication and infectivity of HBV infection.
