Relationship and Influence Between Iodine Deficiency with Smoke Inhalation and Womens Sex Hormone Metabolism

  • ObjectiveTo approach the effects of iodine deficiency and smoke inhalation on women's sex hormone metabolism.MethodsThe pregnancy women in the epidemic area of iodine eficiency disease were divided into iodine deficiency and smoke inhalation group(ID+SI) and control group by urinary iodine, thyroid's volume(ultrasonic method) and the history of smoking(using blood lead as index). The vein blood tests were taken on an empty stomach on day 12-25 after the last menstruation,Pb and Se were determined(atomic absorption photometer) and estradiol(E2) was determined by radioimmunity method.ResultsIodine deficiency and high lead load had closed positive correlation with inadequate content of E2(r=0.850,P<0.01),and closed negative and positive correlation with selenium deficiency and LPO increasing(r=0.784 and-0.845 respectively, Pav0.01).ConclusionIodine deficiency with smoke inhalation can aggravate lead load, iodine deficiency and lead load increasing had co-effect on inhibition of women's sex hormone metabolism.
