Epidemiological Survey on Snuff-Smoking Behavior among Farmers and Herdsmen in Tibet

ObjectiveTo understand the behavior of snuffsmoking among Tibetan people and some related factors,and to probe into some ways to control this behavior.MethodsOne thousand and two hundred tibetans aged 15-70 years from diseases surveillance points in Tibet Autonomous Region were randomly selected in the survey and 1084 qualified questionnaires in total were received.ResultsThe snuff-smoking rate reached 26.57%.ConclusionThe results showed the present status of epidemical diseases among farmers and herdsmen in Tibet.It offered us some basic data and background information to control snuff smoking behavior.
