Influences of Iron Deficiency Anemia on Pregnancy Outcome

  • Objective To understand the ir on status of pregnant women and the influences of IDA on pregnancy out- come.Methods Clinical control study of iron status and outcome of pregnant women.Results Heme-iron intake was insufficient.The incidence of IDA during the second and the third trimester of pregnancy was 14.3%,28.3% respectively,in which the incidence of Hb>100g/L was 94.3%.The incidences of preperiod of eclampsia,weakness of uterine contraction,intrauter ine growth retardation and low birth weight in IDA group were significantly higher than in normal control.After supplied iron and vitamin,the iron status and pregnancy outcome of IDA women were improved significantly.Conclusion There is effects of slight IDA in mothers and their newborns,so it is necessary to receive nutrition education and services as components of routine pernatal care,iron supplement in time for pregnant women.
