Study on Relationship Between Infection of Human Cytomegalovirus(HCMV) and Spontaneous Abortion

Objective To investigate the relationship between infection of human cytomeg alovirus and spontaneous abortion.Methods Patients HCMV-IgM in sera and HCMV-DNA in peripheral blood cells and in fetal tissues were detected by ELISA and PCR in 39patients with spontaneacs abortion,respectively.So were the 23 cases with artifical abortion as control groupu.Results Patients.positive rates of HCMV-IgM and HCMV-DNA in per ipheral blood cells and in fetal tissus among patients with spontaneous abortion were 38.46%,43.58%,33.33%,respectively,and the control group's postive rates were 8.69%,8.69% and 4.31%,respectively.The positive rates were significantly different between two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion HCMV infection played an important role in spontaneous abortion.
