Histochemical Observation of SDH, AKP and ACP in Cultured Cells from Schistosoma Japonicum

  • ObjectiveTo study histochemical observation of the succinodehydrogenase(SDH),alkaline phosphatase (AKP)and acidic phosphatase(ACP)in the cultured cells from adult Schistosoma japonicum.MethodsActivities of the three enzymes in the cultured cells were studied.ResultsThe results showed that SDH,AKP and ACP in all cultured cells possessed activities.Activities of SDH were found strongest around the membrane of the larger cells and in the flagellum part of the flagellated cells.Activities of AKP in the round granular, deltaic fan-like and multinucleate subtegumental cells were weaker in cytoplasm and stronger in the nucleus, while those in the clustered polygonal cells being stronger in cytoplasm, and in the flagellated cells stronger in both nucleus and flagellum part.ACP was very rich in all cultured cells, particularly around the nucleus and in cytoplasm of the larger cultured cells.ConclusionHistochemical coloration for schitosoma japonicum, SDH,AKP and ACP in cultured cells might be an evaluating index of brief, facility and sensitivity on the condition of cultured cells.
