Abstract
ObjectiveTo discuss the practical value of McAb-ELISA to detect filaria speicfic IgG 4.MethodsSeven strains of filaria-specific McAb were established through technique of cellular fusion and biochemistry-immunolo gy,and were used in filarial infection test as probes to detect filaria-specific IgG4.ResultsIts sensitiv ity was 96.3% (104/108).It detected as low as 0.01μl/ml IgG4 per milliliter serum. No cross-action were tested with serums collected from residents of non-endemic area, including those infected with intest inal nematodes, liver fluke and systicercus. Its specificity was 100%.It was also feasible and practical when applied to field study, effectively reflected the epidemic situation of local filarial infection.ConclusionThis was an ideal method to be used in filarial infection surveillance.
