Effects of Zinc on Bone Density and Calcium Absorption

ObjectiveTo study the mechanisms of zinc affecting on bone metabolism by analysis of the effects of zinc on bone density and calcium absorption.MethodsTo use the techniques of ⁴⁵⁺Ca tracer and X-roentgenog raphy to examinate mouce fetal limb buds culture in vitro.ResultsCompared with contrast group,zinc-deficient group and zinc-excessive group express decreased bone density and calcium absorption;on the orther hand,zinc-complement supplied group Ⅰ and Ⅱ express increased bone desisty and calcium assorption.ConclusionComplementing zinc properly has potential function of promoting bone for mation,whereas zinc-deficience and zinc-excess retard bone growth and metalization.
