Epidemiological Investigation on Pilots’ Overweight

  • ObjectiveTo investigatie and analyse characteristis of pilots over weight in order to provide basis for preventing and curing cardiov ascular disease.MethodsPilots were divided into over weight group and de-overweight group in accordance with their body mass index BMI≥25kg/m2 or not.The relation between ages, posts and relevant diseases in two groups were compared and analysed.ResultsThe average coefficient of pilots.overweight was 27.66%,overweight increased as ages increased(P<0.01).The overweight coefficient of current officials whose rank was over regimental comander was 47.00%,apparently more than that below the rank, whose coefficient was 25.07% (P<0.01).The pilots in overweight group sick with hypertension, hyperlipemia or fatty liver were much more than those in de-over weight group(P<0.01).ConclusionIn order to prevent and to cure pilots' cardiovascular disease, health education and medical intervention in pilots.over weight should be strengthened.
