Epidemiological Investigation on Pilots’ Overweight

ObjectiveTo investigatie and analyse characteristis of pilots over weight in order to provide basis for preventing and curing cardiov ascular disease.MethodsPilots were divided into over weight group and de-overweight group in accordance with their body mass index BMI≥25kg/m² or not.The relation between ages,posts and relevant diseases in two groups were compared and analysed.ResultsThe average coefficient of pilots.overweight was 27.66%,overweight increased as ages increased(P<0.01).The overweight coefficient of current officials whose rank was over regimental comander was 47.00%,apparently more than that below the rank,whose coefficient was 25.07% (P<0.01).The pilots in overweight group sick with hypertension,hyperlipemia or fatty liver were much more than those in de-over weight group(P<0.01).ConclusionIn order to prevent and to cure pilots' cardiovascular disease,health education and medical intervention in pilots.over weight should be strengthened.
