Effect of Th1/Th2 cytokines on mice immunized with soluble eeg antigen of Schistosoma japonicum pulsed dendritic cells

  •   Objective   To explore the effect of Th 1/Th 2 cyto kines in the protective immunity against infection of Schis tosoma japonicum in mice immunized with soluble eeg antigen(SEA)pulsed dendrit ic cells(DC).
Methods   BALB/c mice were immunized with SEA pulsed DC.ELISAkits were used to ex amine the lev els of IFN-and IL-4 before and 4 weeks after immunization.By the culture of spleen cells, IFN-and IL-4 after stimulation with SEA were quantified by ELISA kits.
Results   The level of IL-4 was increased significantly after immunized with SEA pulsed DC(P < 0.01).There was not obvious change in the level of IFN-.With spleen cells fr om SEA pulsed DC vaccinated mice, high level of IL-4 was pro duced in response to ConA and SEA(P < 0.01), while there was nodifference between group of SEA pulsed DC immunization and control group.
Conclusion   SEA pulsed DC could induce Th 2 immune response which might play an important role in the protective immunity against infection of Schistosoma japonicum.
