Investigation on mental health of freshmen in normal university

  •   Objective   To obiectively analyze mental health status of newstudents in normal university, and to provide substantial evidences forthe followingeducatioal interference experiment.
      Methods   2019 newstudents in normal university were applied SCL-90 by stratified clustersampling.
      Results   Newstudents in normal university got significantly higherscores of all factors than those in domestic population, significantly higherscores of anxiety and psychosis but lowerscores of somatization, depression, hostility and paranoia than those in domestic college sutdents.With females, males were more likely to sufferfrom somatization, compulsion, hostility, paranoia and psychosis, but less suffered form phobic anxiety.Science majors had significantly higherscores on all factors than those in liberalarts majors.
      Conclusion   Mental health status of newstudents in normal university was found worse than those in domestic population.Significant differences of mental health status existed between different sexes and different majors.
