Screening and verifing study on mental subhealth among undergraduate students

  Objective   To establish a scientific method to screen those people with mental subhealth.

  Methods   The Cornell Medical Index(CMI)was used to screen mental subhealth people from 412 grade one students from a Guangdong Medical University.Anxiety and depression grade, sleeping quality, physiological value and psychiatric interlocution were used as criteria to study the test validity.

  Results   There were 18.2% of mental subhealth students in Guangdong medical university.The anxiety and depression grade, sleeping quality, physiological value of subhealth students that screened by CMIwere between the value of health and illness.The correct ratio of CMI screening mental subhealth people among the masses was 96.1%.

  Conclusion   The CMI can effectively screen the mental subhealth people among the masses.
